Davis Field serves as the home of Idaho State University soccer and outdoor track and field. The refurbished facility boasts a $1 million field house and a new playing field was installed prior to the 2003 soccer season.
Originally named the Spud Bowl and constructed in 1936, Davis Field was renamed after William E. "Bud" Davis, ISU President, 1965-75. Davis Field is an outdoor stadium used for track and field events, intramurals, and the ISU women's soccer team. The field itself is very narrow at 76 feet wide and 118 feet long. The seating capacity is 4,000. The home for Bengal soccer since the program's inception in 1998, Davis Field has provided one of the best home field advantages in the region. In 2002, a new irrigation system was added. In 2009, the Bengals saw a newly painted and decorated locker room, complete with Bengal pawprints on the floor.
In 2007, the Bengals posted the first undefeated home season in Idaho State history with a 6-0-2 record. In 2009, the Bengals remained undefeated in Big Sky Play with a 4-0-0 record, the team was 5-1-0 for the season at Davis Field.
Davis Field played host to the Big Sky Conference Tournament in 2002 after ISU finished the season at home with a 8-1-0 record. The Bengals outscored their opponents 20-7 while setting the school record for home wins in a season in 2002. Idaho State also hosted the Big Sky Tournament in 2006. The home field advantage earned from the regular season helped the Bengals to their fourth Big Sky title. Davis Field enjoyed its highest attendance in its ten year history in 2007, averaging 691 fans per game. The single game record high of 1,540 saw ISU battle Sacramento State on Oct. 7, 2006 for the championship title.
